If showing Covid symptoms but haven't got tested: 

  • Conduct a RT-PCR test for absolute confirmation.

If Covid Positive: What Should You Do?

Step 1:

Go to MySejahtera Helpdesk, update your COVID19 status. Inform that you're positive & complete the form.

Step 2:

Get a Pulse Oximeter to check your oxygen level and pulse at least 3 times a day. Record you readings accordingly.

Step 3:

Monitor breathing patterns and record your symptoms daily.

Step 4:

Your respective Pusat Kesihatan Daerah (PKD) should contact you to set an appointment to get yourself a COVID-19 band at a Klinik Kesihatan nearby. PKD should call you daily to ask about your symptoms.

Step 5:

Traditionally, an ambulance is supposed pick you up and send you to either the hospital or quarantine centre to seek medical treatment. However, quarantine centres & hospitals are now too full to accept patients. Thus, your self-monitoring at home is extremely vital.

How to Self-monitor when quarantining at home?

  • Use a Pulse Oximeter to monitor your oxygen saturation (%SpO2). Seek medical attention immediately when %SpO2 is below 95%.

  • Request family members to observe for abnormal breathing pattern (you may not realize it for yourself but others will)

To prevent spreading Covid-19 to others:

  • Stay home and isolate yourself from other people.

  • Wear double mask over your nose and mouth if you must be around other people or animals, including pets.

  • Sanitize common area at every exposure.

  • Avoid sharing personal household items.

  • Clean your hands often and cover your coughs and sneezes.

CRITICAL: When to Seek Emergency Medical Attention?

Seek Emergency Medical Care IMMEDIATELY When:

 

  • Pulse Oximeter %SpO2 level drops below 95%. (Please do not wait until it's too late.) Monitor Oxygen saturation level at least 3 times a day.

  • Shortness of breath / Abnormal breathing pattern / Breathing difficulty.

  • Persistent pain or pressure in the chest.

  • Inability to wake or stay awake.

  • Pale, gray, or blue-colored skin, lips, or nail beds, depending on skin tone.

Where to seek medical attention? 

  • Go to your closest hospital (Emergency Department) or contact 999 for an ambulance immediately!

  • Avoid private clinics. They may lack equipments/facilities and will still refer you to the closest hospital.
